Who Can Attend BAM Sponsored Events?

You never need to bring a partner with you to a lesson or dance.
You don't even have to know how to dance!  In fact, before most of our dances, we provide group lessons.  Just check out our Dance Schedule!

Anyone is welcome to attend BAM sponsored events, but if you're not a UW student, faculty, staff member, BAM member, or the guest of one, please e-mail us so we can list you as a guest of the council.  If you do fall into one or more of these categories, you are welcome to invite up to 2 guests who do not fit those requirements to an event. Anyone may join the club and membership is Free for students.  -- see our Membership page!
If you would like to attend an event and do not fall into any of the categories above, simply contact us, and we will treat you as a guest of the Council.

What do I Get By Being a Member?

What if I Don't Know How to Dance?

No problem!  Before most of our dances, an instructor will teach a beginner level dance lessons. If you're interested in refining your skills, you can come to our weekly Lesson Series on weekday evenings.

There are also many experienced dancers who are happy to show you some basic dance steps at the social dances.  Just ask someone to dance or stop by the admissions table.  The person working there can usually introduce you to someone with dance instruction experience.
